Why do some discounts look different on Thuisbezorgd.nl?
We’re updating how we display promotional prices on our platform, to make things even more clear and consistent.
What's changed?
When a partner announces a price reduction or promotional price for an item, the previous price (used to show your savings) will always be the lowest price that item was sold for on our platform in the last 30 days.
Example:
Imagine the lowest price of a pizza at a restaurant in the past 30 days was €10.
The current price is €12.
The restaurant puts a discount on this pizza, making them €8 each.
We would show the discount like this: €8 €10
Why are we making this change?
By automatically calculating the price from a 30-day history, we make sure any price reduction shown is measured against clear, objective information, in line with the European Omnibus Directive.
What does this mean for you?
Consistent baseline prices: Any crossed-out price you see next to a promoted item will be the item's lowest price from the last 30 days. This gives you a clear, consistent way to track your savings.
Transparent deals: You can shop with confidence knowing exactly how prices are calculated.
Familiar promotions remain: Offers like ‘Buy 1 Get 1 Free’, basket discounts (like, ‘Spend €20, save €5’), and ‘Free delivery’ continue to work as usual.
What might look different?
You may notice some products no longer show a crossed-out price or ‘Special offer’ label. This doesn't mean the price has gone up. It just means the item didn't meet the 30-day requirement to show the promotion.
